Why is Trump befriending North Korea and tries to quarell with Canada and the G7?

Canada is like the least threatening country to the US. It is the closest Ally of the US and those 2 countries never really had any quarrels. Canada is also one of US' biggest trading partner in exports and imports.
I am neutral on this issue but I am confuse on what is going on. Canada and the US never been hostile to each other. Not even in the past where a republican is the US President.

President Trump speaks his mind, no holds barred.
He puts forth certain facts and it is for others to counter them with theirs.
It is not only with North Korea, we need peace everywhere as the 99% wants it.
