Hubby has just not felt really good lately. I got him an appointment. He is not "sick" but is not 'well". We are headed out the door. I will let you know what we learn. Meanwhile we will likely eat at McDonalds for lunch and we did pack our swimming stuff so we can go by the lake to swim on our way home. How's that for a plan?

Thinking about something the urologist said the other day his primary care is treating him for a uti. There is something else that was on his mind, but the doctor will address that at his physical in two weeks. We got tons of stuff done after the appointment then came home and took naps.

Well if he's not feeling well, is he up for swimming ? Hopefully it's nothing serious & he gets better soon. I love Mcdonalds food.

At this point we are thinking it is a UTI, tests have been run. Part of why he was feeling badly is that he was imagining the worst. We ended up going to Pizza Hut Buffet, did not swim, but our stuff is in the car when we want to go.

@Blondie2222 The tests said he does not have one, but he is going to continue with the antibiotics and drinking herbal tea. Talking with our doctor made him feel better.

@GardenGerty well that's better than something more serious. My sister gets those all the time, they are not fun.

@shaggin No, everyone is supposed to get a colonoscopy after 50, not just men. I have not. He had one at sixty five. It was "clean" Was supposed to get one at seventy, every five years because of family history. Well they did not want to do it while he was getting cancer treatment (prostate.) He barely finished that and had a stroke and has been on recovery mode ever since. Men should get a yearly prostate screening after fifty, according to some.

@GardenGerty I dont look forward to reaching 50 then at all. I tend to put things off so I can't guarantee I would get one when I hit 50 honestly.

@GardenGerty does he get a screening often for colon cancer? I think after age 50 men are supposed to get a colonoscopy every year?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I almost never use sunscreen and I dod not remember the last time I burned. Some of it actually has to do with diet.

@GardenGerty I burn so I have to be extra careful. When we went cruising in my friend's jeep (with the top off) I put sunscreen on myself but she "mothered" me and sprayed more on me! Better to be too careful than not enough.

Awesome! Tony hates to tell me he does not feel good because I need to know what the exact feeling is, so I can act on it and fix it. Being a care giver means fixing it. Some times its serious and I get him to the doctor, sometimes its depression from not being able to do what he wants to do, so I take him out somewhere and do something, even fishing.

Well, we got to thinking and the urologist had mentioned that he might have had an infection. No one tested when he was having the bleeding issues. His primary care says it is possible, no fever but not feeling really well, a little bleeding again. So, he got tested and he got his protime levels tested for the blood thinner. I asked if the four heart meds could be making him tired. The only thing about being a caregiver is that sometimes you cannot fix it.

@GardenGerty Well I disagree, I try to fix it. Tony was bleeding out twice, both times blood thinners for AFIB. Although he never stayed in AFIB, his came and went. He stopped the thinners and addressed the real problem. He has lung cancer and did not know it. Although because of bleeding out, as in blood in the urine, they did see the cancer in his lung with those xrays. The medication he WAS taking for AFIB besides thinners was making tony tired and worn out. I read about a study ( real scientists) that many AFIB cases could be a need for vitamin C, I gave Tony the vitamin C and within days he felt 100% better, so now he take one aspirin per day and a vitamin C. One out of five doctors disagree with the new treatment,,,, guess which one? The doctor that wants to keep him in his office, the heart doctor. I try to fix the problem. I have to know the whole medical history before I try anything different, I also will get one doctor to help me monitor him, I have never had a doctor tell me I was doing anything wrong, just the opposite, they have said he is alive because of me but I won`t take credit, that`s Gods job not mine.

@GardenGerty I can understand. There are days I do not feel well but not sure if that is being sick or not.

Hubby is convinced that if he keeps drinking the herbal tea blends that I make for him he will get lots better.
