A Different Kind of Winner

To say the very least, I did poorly last night in the golf tournament. That hardly matters, though, because I was a different kind of winner. We have a guy who plays on the Southwest tour who's on a temporary job assignment here. Last night he came by to play with us. He did just as poorly as I did, but it was terrific to see him again! He lost toes to diabetes a few years ago, but he's still out there playing. That's one of the great things about our group: we have a lot of survivors who persevere (a number of cancer survivors, and even one gentleman on the Southwest tour who played in the national events despite having MS and needing a walker!) The camaraderie is one of the best things about our little goofy group. Now, it's time to root for our US team as they compete in the World Adventure Golf Masters tournament in Prague!! (And you thought this was just hitting a purple ball into the clown's mouth! )

Hi Fourwalls. The winners for me are those who see life with optimism even after all the hardships they have been thru. Nice to be with those kind of people.

I'm not there. I'm definitely not good enough to compete with the world's best. The closest I've gotten to Prague is passing an "Infant of Prague" church!

You played like the Cubs result yesterday! It's ultimately about fun and golf buddies.

Nothing like reacquainting with old friends and making new ones. Sports activities are great way to do it!
