Where did the expression clothes horse come from?
I was one and love to buy clothing for me and my kids.
As you can see in the photo how sweet they look.
Left to right is my son Curtis,Cheryl,Toni
I outfitted them and my favorite was Cheryl with her hat and outfit.
Not a week goes by I buy myself and my kids clothing.
Not for my ex wife. She was too choosy
Below will give you an idea on this expression.
From online this is what they say.
________________________________________________________________
The expression clothes horse comes from a device people use to hang wet clothes up to dry. It is made out of wood and wire, and it looks a little bit like a horse. ... When you call a person a clothes horse, it means she loves clothes and shops a lot.

Hi Alfredo. So I am a clothes horse. I do not mind as I love to buy clothes and that is the reason I have a small business. I agree, Cheryl do look cute with her outfit.

So, you are saying you are all clothes horses. Here is a term you might like. It won't compare you to any animal The term is called "fashionista."
It means a devoted follower of fashion.

Great photo! I really have little need to "dress up" since I retired, but like to look nice. I have too many shirts, I know.
