A dog reunites with his owner after four years apart

Melissa Manning who calls Palm Desert her home is happy that due to her idea of having her dog Nico microchipped when she adopted him four years ago was reunited with her after four years of being apart. Melissa and her dog Nico were celebrating New Years in 2014 when they were on a mountain pass where they would go hiking together. Nico ran away when he was scared when a loud bang from a firework scared the dog. Four years passed as Melissa got married to her boyfriend and they had children when a neighbor found Nico wandering in his home to get some food to eat. The gentleman took Nico to live with him when a next door neighbor called Animal Control is Southern California to report that the dog was skinny due to lack of food. The man who took Nico in insisted he was taking care of Nico so we would not perish. When the animal control microchipped Nico, they contacted Melissa so she and relatives could reunite with their dog after four years as he was declared healthy enough to reunite with his owner despite the fact Nico lost weight and was missing a few teeth.
