Green Rolling Fields......

Green rolling fields of the West Midlands I once went to see you on a dark and dismal day Walking and walking those little legs of mine Did walk a very long way I thought about where we were going Of your old Kingdom I knew not We climbed and climbed up slippery sodden paths Right to the top of a hill Took my very breath away Spread before us was a very awesome spectacular view I wanted to stay there all day My heart stood very still I took in all of your beauty Far away I could see that you must have been a good King Although you were overthrown by the long boats of another land No mercy was to you shown This is a video of Beacon Hill Sedgley that was once used as a spy the enemy from a distance From here you can also parts of Shropshire and most of what was West Mercia as it was then. Its an industrial part of the Midlands but there are huge rolling field stuck in between and its the highest point of the West Midlands above sea level. This is very close to where I was born although there is no Caslte of such it was part of what was known as West Mercia before the Danes invaded those parts. Alfred the Great had this King as a kind of partner to keep order.
Sedgley Beacon lies some 237 metres (777 feet) above sea level in the heart of the West Midlands. It is said that the top of Beacon Hill is the highest point...

Thank you that is where I am from actually and I climbed up there with my Godsister to see it all and was very tired but the view was awesome and its also very industrial as you can see. Its the heart of the West Midlands.

@just4him Thank you and its the essence of what England is really you have to be there to feel it at its best. Not saying that anywhere else is not as nice though. There are awesome places everywhere in the World its just that I was born there and from there right into Wales is the most peace I have ever felt.

It was awesome to me then and it still is now and I had never walked such a long way in my short life. The view itself is something more spectacular than the video as it does not capture all of the views you get from there and the history it holds as such.

@mlgen1037 At the top of that hill you can feel like you are King or Queen of it as its quite high up and we made it up to the top albeit slipping and sliding.

Being from Wolverhampton West Midlands its a bit much if you have not got a car to go and see it all. Okay I know the bus and the Midland Red Bus costs a fortune to travel on as well. I was lucky as my Godsister took me walking all the way from Wolverhampton right up to there but it was so worth it. I always wanted to go back again and see it from the top.

They are easier to get to than before my Godsister and me had one heck of a journey to get up there after having walked miles before that just to get there.
