Why do guys watch World Cup?

I don't get it. Why do guys watch a group of men chasing after a ball, just to make sure it goes into a wide net?
Yes, the so called World Cup fever is going on now. Some guys make bets, illegal bets, gambling is common in our country. Yet the police are not doing anything either.
Just give each guy a ball !

It is not just a game for many. Ask a person in Argentina, Brazil, or may be some in Germany and for them the game of Football is no less than a religion.
The joy of passing the ball, tackling and scoring the goal is infectious.
I am not in favor of betting and that too in Millions of currency value, and match fixing etc is a sin as per me.
But yes, I am a keen follower of World Cup football.

This is true. I love seeing the action in that huge grass field. And the tenacity of the players are I think commendable.

I have no interest in World Cup as soccer challenges golf as most boring sport.
