How often are you approached by a stranger for some pocket change?

It is common for me to run into people on any given day, for spare change, living in Dallas Texas. It is also common for me to be out of money. I told a guy, who asked me for a dollar to buy a burger and I told him, "I am very sorry, but I have only enough to pay for parking in the garage." - This was at the county hospital, where it costs approx. 5 dollars to park. I don't carry a lot of loose change on me. If I am approached by a stranger for money for whatever reason, I just don't give it. I would rather not do it. I have my reasons. Reason. no. 1. The guy won't buy a burger cause he really wants a beer. Reason no. 2. I don't have spare change to give. Reason no. 3. I am not generous because I am usually flat broke in the first place. Now it's your turn. Give me some ideas as to how you manage your spare change when some down and out dude approaches you on any given day in the big city. It is actually against the law to give money to anyone who pan handles on the streets of Dallas.
DALLAS – The streets of Dallas are becoming hot spots for panhandling, according to police and some city leaders. Homeless service providers estimate some panhandlers are bringing in between $40 to $70 per hour on any given day.

Well no change is spare for me, but I still can manage a few dimes or so if I am in a fair mood that day and not grudging the fact that I am so poor and if I consider that the situation is not dangerous to be in.

This happens very rarely where I live. I can't remember the last time this happened.

No one ever asks me for $$ which is a good thing because I rarely have any cash on me anyway. I would be hesitant about pulling my wallet out in front of a random stranger.

Well they approached every time I get out of a store. But I'm broke I barely have for kids and me. My change I save it when I ran out of gas money or things my kids needs.
