Today is dumpling festivals. We eat dumpling which is believe to honor after a patriotic saint by the name of Qu Yuan.
He jumped into the river after failure to save his kingdom. The villagers immediately tried to save up.
When knowing that their attempts fails, they throw in rice cakes into the river in order to prevent the fishes from eating his body. The rice cake now become dumplings which are wrapped in the pandan or bamboo leaves to give the rice a fragrance taste
This rescue had now become dragon boat race.
Attached is the picture of a deleafed dumpling which I ate yesterday ahead.

@id_peace Ours are made with suet and flour but we do savoury dumplings for stews and sweet dumplings for desserts. They are so yummy.
