My Little Share of Politics

My ten years in Politics ended well I think. Being a Barangay Kagawad (Barangay Councilman) in our little barrio for tree terms in a row I've learned a lot things. Good things and of course the dirt within the politics. I have my little share of both to be honest. Politics is not for good people. I used to be a good man with a humble vision, but being there already is like one clean tomato surrounded by hundred of rotten tomatoes. One must dance with the dirty song of politics. To be honest, I've tried my best to serve my people. I've tried to keep my dress clean but definitely I am not perfect, I'm only human. What do you think about Politics?

Hi Fred. Thank you for being honest because others are too clean that even a speck of dirt, they would not admit it.

@simplfred So true, Fred. Others do not want to admit even if it is too obvious.

It is never easy to be in politics. A dirty game as everyone is telling so. But I do believe that its not the game that is dirty but the people who somehow playing it in that way, making it dirty. You don't have any other options but to go with the flow to survive. But don't worry, God and the people knows your heart. As long as you believe that you are playing it in the right way, not stepping on anyone's toe then you can have a clean conscience. Congratulations in your journey. Winning it in 3 terms is showing that people know you have a good heart to serve.

@simplfred you're welcome. Working in the government is not easy as well especially when you are dealing with politicians too. They are good people but the system gets into them so they are responding how the politicians do. Despite, you can still see the ones with good hearts. And with that alone they have my respect.

I never knew you guys say Barrio too or is that just English translation in general, I am ignorant on such things please forgive me, I really like this post and actually was just talking about this with some people on here about this. It turns you into the thing you hated most turns you just like them. Very few escape like Bernie Sanders but he is still in it. So I guess time will tell, even Obama changed from what he once was, he held together good though overall. Glad you made it out being who you are or always were and neat to see someone say this. All I ever asked of anyone and was quite shocked to read this and see..... damn someone really did try to do it right and not afraid to say the truth for once. Hell I would elect you again if lived there and you decided wanted to go back. Always an option for a rainy day if civilian life is not going as planned or leaves you a bit unsatisfied.

Yes, we call our small community as Barrio. Actually, I don't know what to say to your response. Though I think I've already bare it all to my post. Hopefully, all of my barriomates thinks the way that you do because maybe I'll be back in the near future to serve them. Hopefully, with more passion to serve them right. Thank You.

I´ve never been to politics but I´ve heard that politics is for people who have the desire to serve people in their community or culture. Unfortunately, politics is known for corruption, especially in those countries that are not fully developed

As long as you remain honest amidst the corruption, then you are a good politician. Stay as honest as you can be.

My vision is to be a good example to them. I just hope that every good actions that I've showed them is enough to make a difference to our future politics.

I am not into politics. But congrats on your term. My father ran for brgy councilor but did not win on his second term. At least, I told him, he was able to experience to be elected.

That's the sad fate of the politics in our country, dirt throwing left and right. So, you have experience for running a government post.
