Summer Solstice

Tomorrow, Thursday June 21, will be the Summer Solstice. It varies from the 20th to the 22nd depending on the time zone you are in. It is known as the longest day of the year.
The solstice occurs when the Sun reaches its northernmost and highest point from the equator.
The sun will be highest in the sky and you might notice that your shadow is shortest it will be all year. Measure it at noon.
In ancient Egypt summer was the beginning of the new year.

@celticeagle It is suppose to get in the three digits starting tomorrow. I'm afraid it is going to be a bad summer.

Yes, the sunshine at it's longest. Over 12 hours of light! It's all downhill from there

@celticeagle Halloween and Autumn are nice, then it ends and it's all downhill for me, ha, ha.... Don't like raking leaves and shoveling snow
