Few months Ago, I made a discussion about how Successful Box office draw actresses are paid less than male stars with multiple strings of flop movies. I know in sports you are supposed to be paid higher if you are successful but that is not the case in the US. The men's soccer team lost their federation 2 million dollars and they even got eliminated at world cup. The American Women's soccer team won the world cup 3 times, brings home 4 gold medals on the Olympics and can actually draw. Their Games actually made 17 million dollars and their games are more watched than the men's team. Guess what? Despite of flopping for 100 years. The American men's soccer team still got paid more . The American men's team are paid 5000 bucks if they lose. They are paid 8 times higher than the women's team who are successful. The women are paid zero if they lose. Imagine the case in other fields American women are paid less. I think in sports you should be paid according to how successful you are.
Players on the U.S. women's national soccer team say they are being discriminated against by being paid less than members of the men's team.

I think this issue is a global one. Despite of so much of talk and initiatives about gender equality and women empowerment, the struggle for equal wages is still there in all fields and sports is no exception.

For a country that is not Islamic nor conservative Christian, US should have equal pay.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I think irrespective of any discrimination, there should be equal treatment. One should get paid equally for the same amount of work irrespective of gender.

I get your point. But yes, regardless of the gender, both should get equal pay. Why are men paid higher than women when they win?

They dont even win. The Men's soccer team loses a lot and never won a championship for 100 years,

@mlgen1037 Seriously I can't believe equal pay is still an issue in the US.I don't know why they are still debating about it. I think companies don't want it to happen because they will lose more money if women got equal pay. Iceland and Sweden have the best equality in men and women. In case of the Philippines, Equal pay is good, The issue there is age discrimination. The original reason why there is no equal Pay is many women back in the days retire early to be a mom but it is not the case anymore since moms works now.

This is really unfair. I always thought America was a country where men and women are equal.

I think that is more of Iceland's schtick since it is the country with the most Female politicians.

I don't see why women should be paid less in any field, but in sports since they are so successful with soccer they should be paid even more than the men's team.

I think even in countries where women are paid less, if a woman outperforms a man, she gets paid higher.

Gal Gadot's movie Wonder Woman earned 800 Million dollars and her other movies earn billions too. Johnny Depp's movies are a string of flops recently. Johnny Depp's talent fee $34 million while Gal is paid 100 thousand. The person who draws billions didn't even earn a million.
