I've got Mail!

Canada
June 23, 2018 8:34pm CST
Yesterday I received a notice in my mailbox from the mail carrier that there is a Registered Letter waiting for me at the post office. I could pick it up today after 1:00pm. I wondered for the rest of the day who could be sending me certified/registered mail. Turns out it was from my mother's lawyer. It contained a copy of her Last Will and Testament. My mom has been gone for 4 years and I'm just getting this NOW? Talk about Snail Mail!

I hope it's pleasant news. My Mother passed last year. Before she passed, we found out about unclaimed property under my Mother's name. We went to pick it up at the State Department and signed a document stating that we'd pay taxes for it. It's interesting and a pleasant surprise to find unknown money for you.

Her house has been placed up for sale. My brother is the executor of her estate so I'll need to ask him what's going on. The profits of the sale are to be distributed equally among her children. I knew this was pending, I just didn't know when.

When I get registered letter intimation, I also wonder what it could be. Mostly it ends up as "much ado about nothing" - siva

@Starmaiden and now you're going to save it the additional miles, the final leg of its journey, from the post office to your house.
