They like to chew

Philippines

It's either they still have worms or part of the process because their teeth are growing. One of the puppies had a habit of biting up plastic / paper cups. So, when ever I buy a soda I would just give them the cup. I'm thinking of buying a new toy for them. Pluffy used to have one but he got lazy for it and I gave it to her mother instead. But I hate it when they started chewing rocks and eating soil..

When they are growing they like chewing the things! If they are chewing the rocks and soil means they have either calcium deficiency or mineral deficiency which can be corrected with supplements available in the market my friend! Thanks!

Could it be that rocks or soils over there are quite yummy to those puppies?

@YrNemo , Yes, they feel so when they have mineral deficiency! In rural India the pregnant ladies used to have mud pellets roasted ! Now Government is taking care by providing Calcium and mineral tablets to these ladies! Thanks!

Sometimes if they are eating soil it means something is missing in their diet. But puppies seem to chew anything they can get their teeth into.

Hello @JudyEv That's what I noticed too, they get their hands on something they want to chew and even swallow.

Luna is much too interested in plant containers basically because she can make them sound. I have had to take all that away. She has her own toys.

Hello @marguicha I'm just glad that my eldest dog isn't interested in eating soil anymore.

Look at the bright side, they are not litter box raiders like my dog. I have to lock my cat's litter box on a dog proof place so the habit will die.

Hello @CaptAlbertWhisker Well, I don't have a litter box for starters they poop on the floor and they're not allowed inside.

They're not allowed inside so I think it's good they are not tempted to eat shoes @YrNemo

My niece's dogs have their balls and bone-like toys. They look cute in the picture.

Hello @Jessabuma I have a ball over here but they don't use it some how. maybe I should research on how to teach them to play with it.

I think you need to let them refrain from eating rocks or soil. You will have a dilemma about this. Deworming will be fine for them to have.

@Letranknight2015 I think that's a good idea. I also have one for my dogs, too.

My dog used to chew at the most strange things as well so don't get mad at them.

Hello @id_peace I'm just concerned that they might ate something poisonous to them.

Yeah, rocks and soil are a definite no-no @Letranknight2015 . Plastic cups aren't good either; especially if they get a piece of it caught in their intestines.

Hello @nanette64 They even ate the news paper, yeah I missed that perhaps I should seriously buy them toys instead.

I think you have to have them stay inside and not outside.

Get them the dog toys and this will stop the chewing habits otherwise when you try to stop them with food, they will chew on everything
