Human beings and pets

What drives Humans to have a pet be it a dog, a cat, tortoise, a rabbit, a bird etc? People seem obsessed to have one and I don't understand what their importance is? Maybe it's just me. I hate pets.

@asswclown That is reasonable. Not all want pets. I would love to have dogs but as of the moment I cannot have one. I rather not have one right now.

I enjoy their company and their affection. My parrot entertains me. Their messes don't bother me. The noise usually doesn't bother me. They help to relieve my anxiety. Some people are obsessed with cleanliness, having a perfect house, not "wasting" money, etc. Pets aren't for them. But for many people, pets are beneficial. Studies have proven this.

Dogs are man's best friend. I vouch for that. Their really the best friend of my kids and I can only say that our Macy had helped me a lot of times. In guarding the house against invaders like pests and even burglars. So think about it.

For companionship. As a guard dog something that someone can care about and nurture. A dog is one of the most loyal and caring animals in the animal kingdom. It will worship you if you look after it properly and protect you!
