Grab that or don't....

Yesterday I gave a real wood little shelf unit to the lady who came to lunch the other day. She gave me some runty cherries in exchange.
One more bulky item out of the house. Every day I ask myself: do I want to make room in a moving van for this? The moving van will cost me money to use so do I want so make room for this item?
Today I spotted a man selling cherries. Did I want more cherries? The answer was yes. The runty cherries can go in the freezer for the winter when we will be hungry for any fruit, no matter its size.
Yesterday I thought about staying in the house, out of the hot sun. Go out for a bit and pick raspberries or let the birds have a raspberry party? I finally got up and headed out.
Such decisions make up a day. I hope your decision filled day is a good one.

@rebelann Then go for it. You could make a little growing bed- a wooden square- have the bottom open- dig into the ground as deep as you can then put a bag or two of store dirt in there and chunk off some growing parts from a store tator and give it a go.

Its nice when you can sit down and decided what you want to take with you and what you don't need, good way to do it thinking about if you want it in the moving van. Are you freezing your raspberries as well when you pick them. I really miss my fruit bushes when we moved. I am sure she will have lots of raspberries there this year.

@cintol You used to have a lovely and productive garden. Your new situation is what I am not looking forward to: tons less room for plants. And the even huger issue: me keeping things neat, tidy and not sprawling into a jungle. How to change me?

@sallypup That would be perfect if you planted some when you went the next time because then they will be ready for bloom when you get there. I had raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and grapes. I want to plant them here but my yard is not very big and every where we dig we hit lines in the sprinkler systems.

My husband brought me a handful of black raspberries and blueberries he picked in our yard. The black raspberries are wild.

@BelleStarr Your hubby doesn't eat fresh home grown fruit? Oh my. Reminds me of a neighbor that we used to have- I offered him fresh raspberries. He would not take any cause he said that he liked his berries in a jar- processed jam is what he meant.

I decided I am not doing much. At least until evening when it hopefully cools down some.

Seems a good exchange to me, you both got something you wanted and honestly, it doesn't get any better than that. :-)

Hi Lenore. I do not like cherries that much but still better than nothing. And you seem happy with your decision.
