Am I a savage?

I love my pets. And there's no way I'd eat any dogs or cats at all. But I like fish, seafood of all sorts, lamb, turkey, chicken, beef (no pork) . I know they're all living and breathing and it may sound cruel to kill them just to satisfy my hunger and craving. I was born to believe in God, and as far as I know, lambs were made sacrifices. They were killed and served at feasts. I pray before eating, thanking God for the blessings that are on my table. I consume all of the food before me, not leaving anything on my plate coz I believe that I shouldn't waste those blessings. Now, am I savage for having those animals killed for my own health and survival?

No, you´re not a savage. And I know that some animals have killed people to satisfy themseves their hunger; that is the case when crocodiles have eaten people and that doesn´t mean that they´re savages. All animals and plants are there for those who need to get their nutrients.

you need not feel guilty about these animals as this is nature's food chain and to maintain the eco system that is a must! For that matter please remember plants are also living and breathing! Thanks!

Exactly. Plants have lives too. They have stimuli as well which means plants could feel too. I don't feel guilty at all as I know exactly what I believe in. But I don't like when somebody imposes that one is a savage and has no mercy on those animals.

Although we show mercy to these animals, but most people are the same, we eat meat. This has been the case for many years. As other friends say, this is the food chain.

Exactly. I do respect people on their food choices though. But I don't like it when they impose though sometimes subtle, their food choices on others.

It's natural for us to eat animal food. I don't think I can survive the way those vegans do.

Eeps, that looks like the aftermath of food poisoning! But I have the same thoughts. I love animals, and treat them well in my presence. But I also eat them.

I must be a savage for eating all that and more, but I would never call one a savage for eating meats, fish, and fowl. My new daughter-in-law is a strict vegan, and my son is a vegetarian, but they would never call me a savage. I do dislike the way animals are inhumanely raised and slaughtered. I wish that can be changed.

I hate animal testing on cosmetics. And I'm really sad MAC is into it. But I think they're changing. One of the reasons why we pray before eating is to bless the food and for those animals who had to die to feed us.

@DianneN When it comes to medications, they usually choose the animals.

@toniganzon I agree that animal testing on cosmetics is an awful thing to do. My new DIL's parents are scientists and have to use animals to test new things that are being developed - mostly for medicine and things like that.

Then, we are after all savages because we eat animals' meat as well as vegetables and fruits. All these things are living things like us. No need to be guilty since some animals are made by God to be eaten.

Exactly and God has specifically pointed out which animals we shouldn't eat.

No, you are not at all a savage and I am not a savage either. Humans were created to eat both vegetable, fishes and meats. You say very well that lambs were scarified to God, this since the ancient times. Do not let vegan brainwash us. It is proven that a vegan diet is not at all healthy, because humans need meats.

I have learned from a cousin who's a student of medicine now that all vegetables contain protein, however, she said it's not enough to supply for a human's dietary needs. It's annoying how some people can be really imposing making others feel guilty for eating meat.

@toniganzon This is what my brother told me, the proteins contained in the vegetables are not enough for a human's dietary needs.

no, i don't think so. i believe God created these animals for human consumption, that is why i did not reply to one discussion here that said it would be better if man should eat plants only.

And that person went on bickering coz I blocked him. I was informed in a private message by one Good Samaritan here, but I really didn't care if he did. God never forbade us from eating animals except those which were stated in the book of Leviticus.

I usually have them on our dining table every weekend but I try to avoid it as much as I can. But this time I was invited by an aunt and an uncle at this crab restaurant and I just couldn't refuse them.
