When a movie won´t let me eat or sleep.

Good morning friends. I have not had my breakfast, not even a cup of coffee. Only Luna has eaten. She can yelp until I´m heartbroken if I don´t feed her on time. I woke up, and while I took away the alarm, I turned on the TV. There was E.T. on. I had not seen it again for a long time. And so I said I´d watch while I did my several morning chores. I couldn´t. That movie is as good as it was so many years ago (1982) when I saw it with my whole family at the cinema. Some films (but not many) have changedmy life for a few hours. I missed Dirty Dancing in the cinema and found it just starting when I was going to bed late at night a couple of years ago. I did not sleep. The same thing happened with Vertigo. Have you had that experience with a movie, either when you hadn´t seen it before or when you wanted to watch it again?

I really dislike that movie. I don't know why. I just don't like it. I have been watching a documentary on wrestling. Its just about over though and I will do dishes before picking something else.

All these decades I thought it was just me. Finally someone else who doesn't think "E.T." is great either. I saw that movie at a screening prior to release and thought nothing special basically for kids. Then it opened and became a sensation everyone thought was the greatest thing ever and I was puzzled.

I loved it then and I loved it watching it now. Of course it´s corny, as many children´s movies are. But the E.T. was a lovely alien at a time when aliens were said to come to kill us all.

@JohnRoberts People need sweet, corny, things once in a while. It was released at a time when there were lots of movies, serials and even so called documentaries about evil aliens.

I like Vertigo is a great movie, but I never liked E.T. I will watch again for sure Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, Psycho and some other Hitchcock movies.

I watched E.T. with my children so I guess part of my liking are my memories. As for Vertigo, I think that it was Hitchcock´s best one. I never tire od Casablanca either. I have watched it several times.

"E.T. phone home." I rarely watch movies over again as there's always a movie I haven't seen.

There are several movies I have seen again. Some with luck and others that have not aged well. The one movie I have taken each generation in my family to watch (as my mother took me) is Gone with the Wind.

I tried watching Wrong Turn 4 last night but I couldn't finish it because it's gross. Full of blood.

I remember seeing some movies like "The Three Lives Of Thomasina" which was made by Disney Studios in the early 1960s.
