Can Putin deliver a Russian World Cup win?

Messi and Ronaldo going home today and Spain losing to Russia in a dramatic penalty shootout. Argentina lost 4-3 in the best game of the tournament so far to an exciting France side yesterday and last night Ronaldo's Portugal bounced out by a skilled Uruguay side last night. It was a quite a day. Both Ronaldo and Messi ran out of ideas on having to win the games on their own to get their teams through, Portugal resorting to the give it to Ronaldo technique and Messi seemed aloof yet again from the tactics on the pitch for Argentina. Rsusia have the nation ( and know doubt the KGB) on the Russian teams side and won a tedious game on penalties after 1-1 in normal time. With a distinct lack of VAR replays in the last 16 matches the referee finally asked for some Russian shirt pulling in the penalty box to be reviewed. It was clear it was shirt pulling but no penalty. Hummm.

I think as the host Russia has some advantages. But it is the penalty shootout for sure. It may be lucky for Russia since the soccer hit the Spanish player's hand.

I am not following the FIFA Games, but it is uplifting to hear other's enthusiasm over it.
