Diary Friday 29th June 2018 I headed to the community centre to edit some photos on their computer scanner, enabling to put some non-digital pub sign and old family photos on computer discs, which was great. Ibn the evening I went to the true story telling event, the last one until the Autumn. Sadly our venue closed down this very day, but we got a performance space in a bar nearby and the show continued very informally - my thanks to Spark for their amazing often brave stories, and my sorrow at the closure of the Ham & Jam Cafe. Diary Saturday 30th June 2018 I headed out shopping and looking at some local pubs. I bought a new bus travel saver tocket to cover me through most of July. Though still painfully hot I could see what I took for approaching cloud cover but it turned out to be smoke from burning woodland and peat fires at Winter Hill, about ten miles away, fires that have now raged for five days. Diary Sunday 1st July 2018 A quiet day in, catching up with my writings and photo editing. The heatwave continues. The Sun comes without a thermostat. Arthur Chappell

@arthurchappell Ah, I'm usually on my tablet so I have no way of hovering!

I recognize you in the photo Arthur. We are also under a heatwave, not something I appreciate. The risk of wild fires is high, but people continue to make open grills in the camping areas.

@LadyDuck pretty irresponsible of them as it only takes one stray spark to start a conflagration
