Had a relaxing evening

Second go round for our kitty Fred's babysitter to visit. Just like last time, she intended to stay for an hour or so and stayed for about three times that. She stayed long enough that we shared our evening meal. Simple food that fed us as we laughed and talked together. I'd made a simple soup of boiled potatoes, cabbage, onion and buillion and garlic powder. Hubby had made a loaf of sourdough bread. Home berries and plain yogurt and a little sliced almonds. It worked just fine. Its strange but grand: after all the years spent in this part of the world, we have found a friend who just wants to spend time out here in our quiet world. I hope everyone reading this has such a friend; someone who inquires and listens and engages in lively talk.

That dinner sounds amazing! I don't eat meat so I'm always looking for new yummy healthy recipes. That is so wonderful you have met such a friend as you have! So this woman watched your kitty when you are away?

@shaggin It was a total blessing: first I found the kitten on the road. I took the silly little guy in then realized that we were going on a road trip when he would still be maybe 10 weeks old. I found a sweet lady through Facebook's pet lost and found site. She babysat Fred kitten for practically nothing then she had to go somewhere so she handed Fred to this other lady- the lady who visited with us last night. She's short on cash so on the road trip that we'll take next month, she'll come back and help out Leah pup and the cats and hens etc. What a blessing.

@sallypup 10 weeks would definitely be to young to leave the little cat alone. My boyfriend just got a cat so it would catch the mice he is having trouble with. He has never want a cat as a pet and was going to make it live outside. It is pretty wild and his son isn't caring about it so he is giving it back to the guy he got it from. He's only had it a few days. I think the cat is going back to the home he came from honestly.

@shaggin I hope for that cat's sake that it goes back to where it came from. Many folks do see cats as rodent eating machines but cats have as much need for socialization as dogs do.
