Do any of your pets sleep with their eyes open?

I just now looked at my Sophie and she has her eyes open so I asked her if she sleeps with her eyes open? She didn't want to answer me. Sometimes she has one eye open. Does that mean that they do not want to sleep so they watch what humans do? I have been curious about that. Can anyone tell if animals can sleep with their eyes open.

My pet sleep closing his eyes. Even if he is not asleep he pretends to be hahaha. And when I'm not looking he'll open. He's smart, funny how they act like humans too.

@Jessabuma Thanks so much Jessa. That is interesting to know about fish. I am sure when my cat I had before Sophie ate the fish my ex had that they probably closed their eyes.

@Hannihar hehehe!!! You're welcome.. Fishes sleep with open eyes because they don't have eyelids.

I feel your pain. Our cat won't speak to me either. lol. But I have never seen him sleep with his eyes open. In a way that would be a little bit spooky.

@porwest I was curious to see if any pets did do that. Thanks for feeling my pain. She doesn't always answer me but sometimes she does. When she wanted to be petted and comes on me she talks then.

Both of my dogs sleep with their eyes closed. Occasionally they'll open one eye to see what's going on

I know that animals without eyelids sleep with their eyes open like hippos, giraffes, snakes, insects, fish, and guinea pigs. I never saw Doodles sleep with his eyes opened, but he has opened one eye to see what’s going on.

Babies and toddlers will do this sometimes. Also my Sendy (dog) sometimes sleep like that. Pretty creepy
