Having worked for years at different places, countries, and even cultures, I have found one thing in common. There are the super good and the really bad everywhere. Some are a pleasure to be with and also at the other end of the spectrum those who are a real pain. The main characteristics as per my experience have been: The Good, sadly a minority: 1. Ever helpful, tactful, understanding. 2. Can trust them; we get relief by sharing a problem with them as they are sure to help find a solution. The Bad, thankfully a minority: 1. Selfish, manipulative, and divisive. 2. Untrustworthy and Unpredictable The team players, fortunately, a majority: 1. Anxious to please and to be useful 2. Ready to go the extra mile when needed. I recall all of the types for who they were, and at the end of the day I tolerated the really bad with a take “It takes all types to make a world”. We enjoy some, suffer others, and move on. Do you think they all have a role to play? Maybe, they are there to add variety and keep us on our toes. Image: Humanity from Wikimedia Commons

Humanity is like that, unfortunately, with a mixture of the good and the bad. I'd prefer to not have the bad in my life, and fortunately, have only met only a few.

I think it is inbuilt in the creative process. Shakespear's famous phrase in "As you like it" says it well "All the world's a stage And all the men and women merely players" - siva

Its very interesting indeed. I think our problem mostly is getting people to where they belong. Always forcing things on people. Go to college be a doctor, be a Christian, get married, have kids. Get greedy and make a lot of money and you will have internal happiness. From the looks of things. Do not think that is working.

One friend, my age, was lamenting that his parents wanted him to save first and he did but then he felt what he had worked for all his years was pointless as he is not healthy enough to enjoy the way he would have done when young. He now tells the younger generation to enjoy their moments without worrying about saving - not that they need his advice for that! siva

Seeing no need for the bad it seems I could do without these.

Some are indeed really bad. I have met few in life and when I see them from a distance my heart misses a beat; they are cantankerous to the core - siva

We are each given a vehicle for our soul to drive.
There is no doubt that there are various types of people in this world, living from differing personality types. Why is this so? We meet good and bad people, Pharisees, and good Samaritan types. Why are there all these different types of people? Why didn't God create them all more to gravitate towards love and goodness, rather than allowing some to move more towards badness and selfishness. I would say that God created different types of vehicles for each created soul, so that the interactiveness between different types of vehicles might bring varied stimulative input to a soul. Each soul will eventually learn that love bumps into no-one, but simply relishes all in its wake, whereas the vehicle itself, without a driver fuelled by love, will be accident prone, and drive recklessly on the roads of life, having no consideration for other drivers at all. Where there are still these learner type drivers, inexperienced in driving their vehicles still on the roads of life with us, we need to embrace a level of patience with them, and deal with their bad driving habits as best we can to avoid as many accidents as we can do so. Photo Credit: The photo used here was freely sourced from the free media site: pixabay.com. We are each given a vehicle for our soul to drive. How we drive it, look after it, and the type of fuel that we use, (both for our car and for our soul, the driver) is largely up to ourselves.

@Shiva49 I think that over time the good must always prevail, because God, as the good overseer of all, will always ensure that that is the case in the end, and also, each and everything that he made, was made with some good in it, and when the dust settles, the good will be seen to be still there. Eventually, everyone must return to the good, their homing pigeon inside of them will ensure this eventually is so.

@innertalks I believe the good is inside all of us even in those who go off their rocker. They are out to get even. I see the social niceties are a casualty when big leaders are out to put their stamp on international relations, sort of bully others. However, all these are temporary aberrations that cannot hold water in the long run. One cannot win over others by hurting them. We can be a team player only when we approach others in a way we like to be treated. Yes, the good will prevail, others are mere pretenders! siva

@Shiva49 Yes, let's just hope that the bad do not put up a big last-minute resistance campaign, which causes major catastrophe first.

Yes, to the extent possible. Some are deceptive though, and show their true colors when the going gets tough - siva
