It is Africa and not France that won the FIFA World Cup 2018

Looking at the list of players that played for France there are more migrants from Africa in there and so is it not justified to say that it is Africa that won and not France?
Les Bleus clinched their first title on the global stage since 1998 after defeating the Croats in Moscow

Except Samuel Umtiti all players yesterday were born in France. 8 of the players yesterday have at least 1 parent from foreign origin (among them 2 from Spain and 1 from Belgium, and these are not African countries). They are proofs that integration works well in France, and it is not something new, France has always welcomed migrants.

@LadyDuck A football player can play only in 1 national team, and it is a choice made once for all : if a player with a dual citizenship had played in another national team than Switzerland he would not be allowed to play for Switzerland.

@topffer Here the Government would like to have in the Swiss team only players who are born here. Most of the players have Swiss passport but they were not born here. The majority is from Kosovo and Albania. After the "incident" occurred during this World Cup, they are planning to impose restrictions.

Correct, we cannot say the same for many other teams. I know for sure that the players of Swiss team were not all born in Switzerland. There is a lot of talking about this right now here.

I thought that myself. Mbappe was the real hero of this World Cup. And there are other players whose names show clearly their ancestry.

If you examine all the teams, very few players were born in the nation they represent. For this reason, Switzerland is going to ask to have only Swiss players the next time.

Seems reasonable. But what about citizenship?

@LadyDuck If you notice people are becoming aware of this situation and as you said probably there will be new rules formed. Sania Mirza the Tennis Player is settled in Pakistan but plays for India.
