Whenever I can I recycle. My old clothes are given to someone who can use them. Food scrapes are tossed to my neighbors chickens and what ever else I can not use is tossed in the trash can. But it does not end in the trash. Once or twice a day somebody will come by and check the trash for almost anything they can sell or use. It is their job and while they may not make a lot of money, it does pay the rent. Do you recycle?

I tried to recycle stuff like plastic and metals but I noticed that the trash takers are not making any separation between the recyclable stuff and the non-recyclable stuff and that they put everything at the same place in their garbage truck.

Perhaps they go through it at the end of the day.

Oh yes! We are "obliged" to recycle here. The clothes go in special containers and the charities collect them. The paper, plastic, glass, metal are all sorted in separate bins. We bring the food to animal shelters.
