Squeaky shoes

Today I have really noisy shoes. I'm not sure WHY they are so noisy but I fear it might be because I'm not wearing socks or tights inside. When I walk, I creak. I'm just hoping it's my shoes and not my knees - some days it might be. It's a good thing that I don't work in a library. People would have to keep 'shush-ing' me as I walked by. Sometimes it's even worse and my shoes sound like they are farting. Apologies to non-Anglo friends here - that's an English term for 'passing wind'. As a complete aside, a fart in the north of England where I work is also called a 'trump' so you can imagine the fun we have with the American president. What's the difference between a fart and a trump? One of them's an unpleasant load of hot air and the other's a fart.

@boiboing Nominative determinism at it's best!! I wonder how he would have turned out if his name was Mr Wisdom or Shufflebo77om. I had a maths teacher called Mr Shufflebo55om at school. You can probably imagine the fun we had with that. No maths was every learned and he was referred to as Mr Scuttlehole.

@boiboing I don't know why Mylot took exception the name of the aforementioned teacher and required me to disguise it with symbols so not to offend. I thought bo??om was a rather acceptable term to use, after all I've got one myself - better check that and make sure it's still there. Ah yes, there it is, all's well.

I thought only kids who are just learning to walk where those shoes that make a sound with each step they take. They like that sound and that is a kind of an impetus.
