Here's a New Argument for Vegetarianism

I guess you could call me a reluctant vegetarian, given that I'm allergic to beef, seafood, pork, lamb, and just about everything else, except chicken and turkey. After I saw this article today, though, I realized that being a vegetarian might be a good thing.
They're making laboratory meat now.
I guess it's not that big a shock. After all, what are chicken nuggets but processed stuff? But in the era of "natural" and "non-GMO" foods it seems rather strange that people would be interested in making food -- especially meat -- in a lab.
And then there is that movie, Soylent Green, coming to mind.......
Here's the article:
Mosa Meat has raised a round of venture capital and plans of bringing $10 burgers (without any cows involved) to tables by 2018.

People never think about what they can eat, only what they can`t eat when they hear vegan or vegetarian, I lived the life for many years, now I eat chicken and fish more. No, I don`t know why.

A vegetarian diet is very healthy...if you can incorporate all of the vegetables/fruits that supplement all of the nutrients, protein, vitamins and minerals the body requires for healthy function. To eat healthy sometimes means sacrificing taste for nutrition.
I would never eat labratory meat. I am weaning myself off of meat. There are still many vegetables like kale and spinach that are rich in vitamins and other nutrients that I simply cannot eat. It's both the taste and the texture that puts me off. Hopefully soon I can find a happy medium so I don't need to depend on any meat for iron and protein.

@rebelann -- I've stopped eating beef, and lost seven pounds by making that one adjustment in my diet!

have you always been allergic to all of those, or did those allergies develop later?
by seafood, do you mean fish, too, or those with shells?

The report came back saying "seafood" and shellfish. Just as well: I can't stand the taste or smell of fish. Some of these (like beef) have been late-bloomers, while the seafood one is longstanding (I remember getting very sick after a fish dinner when I was a teenager).
