I went to visit the home of rudyard kipling...not because I have any great interest in poetry... but because His home is very old,  and has been kept the same,  since his death... and has  large gardens and a beautiful lilly  lake..., all of which are open to the public... although there are admision charges. He was born in 1865 and died in 1936 ... and had a varied upbringing... and used his remembrances of those times as  inspiration for his writings... he was  outspoken,  and  often commented on social events and political matters, in his writing, ...  which,  sometimes, ruffled the feathers of the politicians and leaders in office then. this great poet... bought us such works as ...   The jungle book... which was made into a film, and the poem "If "   probably  his most famous piece,   Here are  just a few lines from the poem..  but you can easily read the rest online... "IF ...  you can keep your head when all about you  Are losing theirs,  and blaming it on you,   If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,  But make allowance for their doubting too;   If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, but don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, but don’t give way to hating.." ect ect.... So ...  we went for a look around the house and grounds...  it was beautiful... he had a huge lake... and a small lilly lake as well,  and a mill on his property... as usual I have taken loads of photos... so come for stroll with me through the garden and down by the lake...  click on the link below
