The moonflowers in my garden are blooming and it is the first time I have grown them. Moonflowers or Devil's Trumpet can grow up to eight feet with gorgeous foliage, petals and trumpet shaped flowers. But these night blooming flowers only open up at nights which is a wonderful surprise to seen in the dark of night. While some moonflowers die once the sun touches them, mine continue to bloom during the day until late afternoon. This could be because they grow in areas that are shaded from the sun most of the day. The moonflower reminds me of the song Maneater by Daryl Hall and John Oates

What a beautiful flower! Devil's Trumpet shouldn't be one of its names.

Yes that name doesn't seem to match the beauty of the flower

It looks like a flower which we call as Dhatura in India! Is this a poisonous plant? Fruits, how do they look?

"oh, here she comes. watch out, boy, she'll chew you up. oh, here she comes. she's a man-eater." yep, i remember that and other hall and oates songs. so that's the secret - plant it in the shade. are they fragrant?
