Kids made the lunch on their own

I don't know why I have been feeling tired and lazy since a few days ago, perhaps since the day I worked so hard cleaning the front yard and got muscle pain. I haven't been really decluttering and organizing my home since then, and I feel quite uncomfortable with the mess too. I just decided not to prepare the lunch yesterday. My eldest son suggested to cook some simple food, so he prepared the lunch with the younger sister yesterday. At first I just thought they can easily cook the porridge with carrots and potatoes. My eldest son wanted to fry the luncheon meat as well. So that's our lunch and dinner. Though they have been helping to cut the veggie or even fry sometimes, they have never made the whole meal on their own without my help. I think it's really good to let them handle more work in the kitchen, so I can take more rest. I am such a lazy mom.

How old is your son? Is it safe to let him fry food?

He is already 9 years old, so I think it's safe. My 6-year-old girl can fry pancakes or omelette too, though I am always there to guide them or just stand-by.

@kaka135 You know your kids, so you are the only one who can judge.

Your children really grow up and they are good kids In fact we don't have to be "good moms" all the time. We have to be "lazy" sometimes and therefore our children will depend on themselves and it is good for them. A very diligent mom will lead to lazy children

Yes, I agree with you. I "learned" that since I was young, as my mom is very hardworking and I became very lazy.

My kids started preparing lunches and breakfast from a very young age.

I think that's really good. Moreover I think kids always like to help out in the kitchen or at home especially when they are young, so it's good to let them participate when they are young.

Thanks! Yes, it's good to guide them to do more work, and I'll do less.
