No Uzbek food - but a good day anyway

Today my husband and I drove to the fair and we met our friend there. We had a nice time. I didn't find anything that I wanted to buy, but I enjoyed looking at the things people were selling. There were new things and as well as second hand things.
We also passed a stall that belonged to a clairvoyant woman. Acccording to her sign her sessions lasted 15 minutes and they were quite expensive. We didn't pay for a session, but it did make me a little curious.
After the fair we went to another town. We wanted to visit the Uzbek restaurant there. We found the right street and there was a sign with the Restaurant's name, but we couldn't find the restaurant. There was a store close to the sign and we asked them how find the restaurant.
The woman told us that the restaurant didn't exist anymore and she also showed us the empty building where it used to be. The website still exists, but the restaurant is gone, so we had to find a different place to eat. We had traditional Danish food instead. The food was okay, but nothing special.
I was disappointed when we weren't able to visit the Uzbek restaurant, but I still had a great day with my husband and our friend

I am sorry to hear that the restaurant had closed down. If there site is still up maybe they have another location or plan to obtain another location. I don't see why else they'd pay for a domain that doesnt' serve a purpose.

The shop assistent we talked to told us that the owner might open a new restaurant in a different city. She wasn't sure, but she said that he had talked about that. I think that a different location might help (a bigger place) I also thought about the website. Maybe they want to keep the website and edit it if/when they open a new place.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I just checked the website again. The owner has just changed the contact information. Now it says they that they are planning a new restaurant in another city. Great news

I know this dish very well. It is from a place called Gudhjem (northern part of Bornholm) and in Danish we call it 'Sol over Gudhjem' My paternal grandparents were from Bornholm, and I love the island. Have you been there?
'Rødgrød med fløde' is our famous tongue twister

@MALUSE Most foreigners find it really hard to pronounce it because of the soft d's and the ø's. It sounds like you passed the 'test'
Your comment reminded me of an experience my father told me about. He was travelling by train and he met two women from Germany. He had a conversation with them in German, and during their conversation they asked him: "Which part of Germany are you from?" He was Danish and German was not his native language, so that made him very proud.

@Porcospino No, I haven'g been to Bornholm.
I'm obviously good at pronouncing Rødgrød med fløde. I said it once to two Danish women. It was out of context and they were puzzled. Why did I say that? It made no sense. But they thought I was Danish, maybe a crazy Danish woman. :-)
That made me proud.

Yes, it was very nice to see my friend and catch up. Unfortunately the restaurant is permanently closed, but maybe the owner will open another restaurant in the future. The shop assistent we talked to told us that he was thinking about that, but I don't know if he will manage to do it
