Addressing the Nation again

Philippines
July 23, 2018 3:04am CST
Looks like were going to have another SONA (State of the Nation Address) by the President DU30. There's a twist, it seemed that they change the Speaker of the House all of a sudden. I wonder if the President was aware of this. Then there's this another Autonomous Bangsamoro that hasn't been ratified yet and called it Organic Law now. Not supposed to watch it but not much watch to do.

GMA was rushly made the new speaker of the house, and that is one thing i like but not the manner it was done. i think there was a coup. Alvarez is already unbecoming of being a speaker. DU30's SONA was short but i like one statement he said:(referring to CHR) : "You deal with human rights, i deal with human lives" (or something to that effect).

@ridingbet That's just insane, no wonder we couldn't heat them say anything.

Yes, it was a coup, very clumsy one. I thought they just complaining about problems with the mic. I'm glad the SONA was short and better addressed compare the last time.

@Letranknight2015 apparently, they switched off the microphone so their communications will not be heard by the media and other people.

@chiyosan Not sure if I should trust the media at some point of the speech. Can you share me those articles?

It was a true state of the nation - disarray under this inefficient and ineffective sham of a government.

I like to watch it yesterday at the center but TV's are not working there. I've seen it when Gloria Arroyo stands in the center as the House Speaker. I wonder why that happens.

They replaced Alvarez by voting for her as the new replacement. And I thought she was just complaining about the microphone

I watched the SONA. It is quite short which is good. What is funny though is that most of the people were there before 11:00AM and the SONA started around 5:00pm. I wonder if they serve food there.

I bet they ate so much that most of them just went to take a nap during the SONA @rakski
