Hi guys.Thank you all who read my first post and answered to it.I would like to hear your opinion about the hoarders or people who collect things that they will probably never use.I have such a friend whose house is packed with staff like paper tubes, old fashion video cassettes, dolls, brics and bracs. She is never satisfied with what she has and always wants more. She has got 3 bikes in her garden and bought a new one few weeks ago even though the others are in perfect condition. She bought a canoe despite the fact that there is no river or Lake where we live.I was brought up in a way to be happy with the little I've got and the greedy people always have disgust me somehow. Thanks for giving some of your time to read that.Regards:Anna

it can get extreme - I have met many compulsive hoarders - it can get dangerously unhealthy and unhygienic

Hi Anna. Welcome to My Lot. Your friend sounds like she is a hoarder. I am amazed that she bought a canoe which she is hardly likely to use. Three bikes is too many for one person. Video cassettes went out years ago. Paper tubes could be recycled. Try to get her interested in saving money so she doesn't keep on buying pointless things.

I have not been here for a while, but I wonder if hoarding is a result of deprivation or emotional need. In my family we have the opposite. One person hates to have any unneccessary thing at all. I have given up buying any gift unless she approves it.
