The Student Prince Invited Himself To Dinner......

On a Sunday I would often sit on the stairs and listen to one of the most fabulous Tenors for me at least. I never got to see the Film then. I would sit there before dinner and relax and listen to this guy. I knew nothing about him just that he could sing like the Angels. Totally blown away on nice sunny Sunday. Take note and adjust your speakers as its not digitally remastered this is him in pure essence.

I studied in the city of Heidelberg for six years where the film is set . I don't know anyone who has watched it. Seems to be an Anglo-American thing. I lived above the castle and could look down at it from my balcony. The house is hidden by the trees in this photo.

I did not know that at all. In fact I have never seen all the entire film but listen to the LP yes a lot on Sundays. The Student Prince was a great favourite with me as I loved his voice only.

Never heard it before, but what a voice! I visited Heidelburg and the university with my husband. Beautiful and interesting old town, too.

I love to listen to Mario Lanza as it has such good memories for me peaceful ones that is. Sunday was about the only day in the house where there was some peace ableit for a while and his voice seemed to calm everything down. Apart fro the fact he had such a beautiful voice. I know there are other beautiful voices just imagine if he would have gone to the Voice Program nowadays he would have blown them away for sure.

@bunnybon7 Here is a link of Mario Lanza where he is singing Without A Song and the video of the Skaters Gordeeva and Grinkov have been matched to his singing. Hope you like it.
The excellence of Mario Lanza's voice is combined with the excellence of Gordeeva's and Grinkov's ice skating. Mario Lanza was called "the greatest voice of ...

Yes Bun and there was no other to listen to just then. There were to LPs in the house of him and it was played every Sunday without fail and with only having two television channels which were not put on all the time that is how I got to appreciate such a lovely warm voice. We must be alike in some ways and I am glad about that. Take care.

He has and its not digitally remastered either as its a bit powerful if you don´t adjust the speakers. He sang from the heart hence he gave it all he had got. Have a great day ahead Val and Dianne.

A very nice song, but this is the first time I heard it. (just to show you how ignorant I was - and still be .)

No, I don´t think that at all. There are so many films that I have not seen either. This was an LP of the The Student Prince that we used to put on on a Sunday morning after all the housework and the dinner had been cooked. I put him in the video down there as all the credits go to his wonderful voice.
