Reasons Why Should Avoid Eating Too Fast

When we eat the food we like, usually because it is too enjoy its deliciousness, we eat it in a fast time. We do not chew it properly and swallow it. Or, when you have to go to work or school fast, you consume breakfast menu quickly, in order to save time to be late. Indeed, this is an effective way to save your time. But, the important question is, is it safe to consume food this way? The answer is no. Here, for some reason. Choking If you eat too fast, chances are you'll choke. Remember, your throat is not only the way for your food but also your breath. When you swallow, the respiratory tract will close. Similarly, when you breathe, the channels to swallow also close. This happens alternately. When you eat too fast, there is a time where both channels are open. And, when this happens, there will be food entering the respiratory tract and closing it. You can not breathe, crowded and when there is no help, life can fly. Not Good for Digestion Indeed, in our stomach, there are acidic substances that can destroy food. Peristaltic movement of the gastrointestinal tract can also help destroy food so it is easily absorbed. However, if we do not chew it properly, then the food we swallow is still in hard form. This will make the digestive system work harder. As a result, substances and nutrients the body needs is not absorbed perfectly. And, the digestive system also works harder than usual, which can cause health problems. Calories Level Up According to research published in The Journal of The American Dietetic Association, if you eat too fast, the calories per day you eat is also increasing. This is related to the digestion. Because the food is still too hard, the digestion cannot absorb substances that are useful for forming energy. And, the body will keep trying to tell you to eat again, which results in increased incoming calories.

When I was in elementary and high school back years ago, I remember that most of us students would eat our lunches way too fast during lunch break in the school cafeteria. We'd get done eating well before the twenty five minute lunch break ended. Not good.
