Good evening fellow myLotters. I was out of the site for several hours now because I watched some of the afternoon shows. This afternoon just after I left the site, I went to the bathroom for necessity. But before I sat on the toilet bowl, I saw this small brown thing on the floor. I was not wearing my eyeglasses so I thought it was a dead earthworm. Earthworm? That is my phobia. I was trembling and I was palpitating. I took a brush and touched the brown thing. It sounded like a piece of plastic. What I did next was I touched it with my slipper. It was not an earthworm. I felt relieved. I told my sister about it and she laughed. Truly it is not good to come face to face with your fear.

I'm not worried about earthworms (they do a lot of good in the garden), but a spider wiould be a different matter

@ridingbet I wouldn't go so far as to say I have arachnophobia, I just don't like them and certainly don't want them in my house.

@jaboUK yes, we can sometimes virtually feel their long legs crawling in our legs. that is what i often imagine if a spider is near me.

i am not scared of spiders, the harmless ones. this morning when i opened the back door of the house, a medium-sized spider entered the house and hid in the cartons. i did not search for it, anyway, my son will not see it. (son has arachnophobia)

Same as Jabo, I am not scared or worried about earthworms, I only fear snakes.

@ridingbet I do not kill snakes, they are protected animals because they eat mice and slugs and they do not harm people. I would never touch a caterpillar.

i really cannot accept earthworms in to my system. i love touching though, the big green caterpillars, but not earthworms. i am not scared of snakes too, but i don't like that i will smash them. i did several times but now, when my sister screams, i get back out too.

@LadyDuck the snakes that are sometimes found inside our house or in your yards have the size of my small finger as its head, and about 1 to 1 and 1/2 feet long. they are brown and i don't know if they are poisonous. my son saw a newly hatched snake in our garden.

Without your glasses on, many things look like something else. I'm glad it wasn't an earthworm.

It is kinda funny. I can imagine you being scared because you thought it was an earthworm and I can imagine your sisters look on her face after finding out that it is not. Ha ha

@ridingbet I think they are smaller frogs who make that sound like "ngaak, ngaak."

@simplfred oh, hahaha. i am laughing at how you described how the young toads sound. the 'ngaaak, ngaaak' is like a sound of the cow that hurt its limbs. we have frogs here that sound like a big truck, or a big cow. they usually sound loud after the rains, at night especially.
