When I saw this quote I knew I had to share it. It reminds me to think before I act or speak. It is so true that once you do the action of saying or accusing another of a wrong you need to absolutely know what you are talking about. It brings to mind "Let the first one without sin throw the first stone". Once you say something, once you have opened your mouth you can never take back what you have said. Be very careful what you say. Once you have not taken advantage of an opportunity it may never come again. It is now an opportunity that lost, one that has passed you by. Time does keep moving. We all need to be aware of what is going on around us. By not paying attention we may let an opportunity go by us. I believe that we all have opportunities that we let go by as well as say things we know we should never say. What do you think?

I think it is a very good quote and what you've said is so true in all four cases. We need to think before we speak that's for sure.

I know that's right. I try to think before I open mouth, insert foot.

@HazySue My friend used to say about her husband that he only opened his mouth to change feet.

Thank you. I believe that no matter how careful we are the wrong thing will still fly out of our mouths.

I completely agree-I try to be very careful to make sure my words are uplifting and don't bring others down.

I know you do. It is ingrained in you. I think we should all keep this quote in mind as we go through our days.

I totally agree. There are so many missed oportunities in lfe that we'll always regret. The thing that (sometimes) keeps me from saying what I really think is that I know the Holy Spirit won't let me rest until I've apologized.

I often refrain from saying what I am thinking also. The quote is appropriate for me.

I absolutely love this quote, and have it hanging on my wall at home. It's been a great teaching strategy for my kids, and a reminder to us all about how we should live our lives.

"Once it's said, a heart can be sad." We cannot undo everything that we miss. As well as the words we say.
