Charley and The Surprise

I want to tell you an odd story, one that is true. Last night I went to bed around midnight, trying to get back on a good sleeping schedule so I can do things in the day instead of all night long. I began to fall asleep and the book was falling over and I woke, laid it on the nightstand, switched off the light and rolled over, telling all my ghosts "not tonight, I need rest" and off to sleep I went. A few hours later I was awaken but not by a noise. Something was touching me. I rolled over onto my back, waking a little to see if it was real or if I was dreaming. It was real I felt something on my leg, I reached down and got it! It my between my finger tips. I went to the bathroom and turned on the light to inspect what this is I have. To my surprise it was a tick! I have no idea how a tick got into the bed with me. I vacuum regular and I do not allow my pets inside, they don`t want inside anyways, So I can only explain this as it hitchhiked on me from outside. I am thinking it had clung to my hair, since it was down yesterday. I went back to bed and fell right back to sleep. I did dream and I was in the middle of a dream of shopping at walmart, I was using self check out when all of the sudden........ I woke, wide awake and up in the bed! I had the worst Charley horse in my right leg! I almost screamed with pain. Needless to say I got up, God did not want me to sleep any longer for some reason unknown to me, but ya know what? I feel rested! Ready to start my day! So good morning mylot!
Charley horse is another name for a muscle spasm and is most commonly occurs in the legs. The pain you feel can be intense and can result in muscle soreness. We'll explain the causes of charley horses, and how you can find the right treatment option. Stret

Awful about that tick. The nastiest Charlie horse that I've had a couple of times is one in my thigh. Intense and freaky.

@andriaperry That thigh cramp was scary. It was like my muscle was trying to turn inside out.

My calf still is sore, I reckon I should skip the walking today. That would be one wicked cramp in the thigh.

Ouch, this is extremely painful, when the weather is hot and humid it happens more. I hope you got all the tick out of your leg, there are many this year.

So it was crawling on you or attached to you? That isn't good if it was attached to you from the day before. The longer they are on the worse risk you have of getting sick from them.

You had a rough night! That's a stroke of luck that you woke and got rid of the tick. I hate waking with a Charley Horse, that's one of the worst ways to wake up. Now that you're up.....I hope that you have a good day!

Thank you, I plan to clean house to make sure another tick does not find its way on me. The house is not nasty but after that I feel it is, LOL.

My daughter gets Charley horses and has found eating pickles alleviates the frequency. Weird but it works. Ewww for the tick but you probably brought it in but glad you found that nasty thing.

@andriaperry @Marylynda pickle juice replaces the electrolytes you are missing that cause the charley horse. Sodium, chloride (salt) and I believe the vinegar has potassium. I drank pickle juice after a bad bout of diarrhea and vomiting that lasted for days (a story here. I was poisoning myself). That is when I began to recover. We find that if we drink some V8 type vegetable juice at bedtime we do not get them. I like to have about an ounce of cheese as well for calcium and magnesium.

Oh dear I would have been so frightened by the tick. I know they carry disease. I pray it did not bite you. And the Charlie horses oh gosh I hate those. Perhaps tonight will be better for you.

I have heard that ticks will literally jump on to you when you are outside, mowing and stuff.

We seem to be rid of ticks for now. Knock on wood! I hate when Charley visits me like that.
