Oh, my...we have a grandson in driver's education class

We've been through this with two children and two other grandkids, but it's always a scary thing. The good news is that Nathan's a smart, loving, insightful 15 year old. The bad news is he's a 15 year old. He can hold an intelligent conversation with many adults about science, religion (knows the Bible more than a lot of people I know!), politics, and world happenings. But I tell him to make his bed and thirty minutes later, it's half made and he's on to something more interesting. I pray he'll pay more attention to other drivers on the road. He tends to lose his focus at times. If he's doing a chore, that's not so bad. If he's driving, that could be real bad. Oh, Lord have mercy on us, him, and every other driver within ten miles.

Haha, I know how your feeling. My grandson is getting his permit as well and just turned 15. Just seems so young to me for being put behind the wheel of a car with that much power. Here's wishing luck to them both.

I took drivers education. I still wasn't really ready to drive when I got my license. But I did, and the only accidents I have ever been in were the other person's fault: someone ran into the back of me at 16, ran into the side of me at 17, and ran me off the road at 18. By then, I had resolved to give up my license if anyone else was careless. Fortunately, I have not had a wreck since. Your grandson will do well!

15 seems very young to have a licence. I think it might be nearer 16 here and 17 by the time they finally qualify. The authorities are a lot more particular about the training than when I took my licence which is a good thing.

Thank goodness he can't drive alone until he's 16, although I think that's still too young.

Yes, that can have serious results. One must be focused when driving. Maybe he should wait another year.

I wish he would wait. But hopefully with lessons and experience, he'll be okay.
