At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom: Jawahar Lal Nehru -India first Prime Minster.
Above was the first speech India first PM made in parliament.
Today is 15th August -our Independence day.Today our schools and office will remain closed so my subjugation will be temporarily transferred from office to my home where my wife rules singlehandedly.
Today will be dry day so i can't drink ,smoking inside the home is already prohibited. The security out side has been beefed up to prevent any terrorist attack ,so holiday outing is not advisable.
The only way i have to celebrate independence is to watch Independence Day Parade and listen to our PM from red fort.
i believe every country has independence Day, how you celebrate it ?

Germany doesn't have an Independence Day because it was never under the rule of another country.
Here unification is celebrated when the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) and the GDR (German Democratic Republic, [East Germany]) were re-united in 1990.

This is matter of great pride for any nation i think.I had heard famous quote of Bismark from my history teacher who had quoted it very rhetorically, since then i was convinced Germany as a very powerful country.
