Dad Broke his Tooth

My dad broke his tooth accidently last night (about 21 hours ago). We ate dinner, he made an omlet, tahini, we ate together. Then, it was time for me to wash the dishes, he laughed at me how slowly my hands moved, how slowly I washed the dishes. He went to the living room, I kept washing the dishes, then, he came again to take fruits. I thought he would laugh at me again, I didn't like it, I told him to stop eating - that's enough, stop eating, you are destroying your diet, stop !!!- He told me - I'm just taking fruit, I can enjoy it- He made a mistake and took a peach to eat. The peach was hard and not ripe enough, he gave a strong bite to take a piece, unfortunately biting the pit, the kernel that is hard as a stone. He broke his tooth. I hope he has learned his lesson to stop eating too much, to know when it is time to stop. Sometimes, I feel I want to eat a lot, or play games a lot, I need to be aware to when it becomes an obsession that controls me, and when I really need what I want. So I won't break my tooth too (not really break a tooth, but have an accident I may regret later). Your take, mylotters, what do you think about the incident, what do you feel about awareness to differentiate between a real need and between a will that controls oneself ?

People make their own decisions for themselves and even if it makes them break a tooth it doesn't mean he won't do it again--people do NOT learn from their mistakes. :O(

Many people don't learn from their mistakes. That's easy to repeat the same mistake over and over again. We have our will to enjoy, and it sometimes overcomes the logic and the reason. Eating too much is a good example, watching too much TV, smoking...

I can't imagine a peach breaking his tooth. Is his teeth bad?

That was the peach kernel that broke the tooth. It was one of the front teeth. He went to the doctor to take care of it.

I hope he gets the dental treatment, and hope it's not the front.

Yes it was. He started to get the dental treatment. I hope he has learned his lesson to know when to stop.

I think he gave a hard bite to the peach, he gave a bite to the seed too. Since the seed has a strong shell, the tooth got broken.

My dad likes sitting in front of the T.V and eat whatever he can get from the refrigerator. He can do it for hours at the evening. :-| I think it's a waste of time, but, he is already 64 years old. He tries to do a diet and doesn't succeed. He needs some self control.

Ouch. I hope it doesnt hurt that much. I do eat sometimes even if I am not hungry or right after a meal. It is just to remove the after taste in my mouth.

@Friendlypink Dad didn't feel any pain, he went to the doctor 9 hours ago to fix his tooth, he got the fraction so maybe the doctor can stick it together. Dad hasn't came home yet. I understand your need to take food and eat again after the meal. There is the moment when the eating becomes too much and not needed. Do remember thinking to yourself it is too much but you still want some more ? I sometimes eat too much even if my stomach hurts, sends me pulses of too much food inside, I still eat because of the good taste of the food. Then I need to go to the W.C in a hurry or else, I suffer pain and risk at shifting in my pants.
