Diary Tuesday 14th August 2018
I got my weekly discount random bag of close to sell-by date supermarket food from the community centre which was a very good selection this time.
Much of the remainder of the day was spent preparing my notes for my public talk on heraldry later this week.
Diary Wednesday 15th August 2018
A day of voluntary work, dominated by a talk on changes in the way the team interact with the university faculties. For me it won't mean many differences.
Sad to see that one of my tutors is leaving, though he has more rewarding work lined up so I can see why. He was the first to suggest to me that I get involved in helping the medical and social work departments on the campus.
The remainder of the day was spent online and making sure my talk's Powerpoint images are in synch with my text for Friday.

I am sorry that one of your tutors is leaving. I have discovered that Aldi sells at 50% discount food that expires the day after. I am buying shrimps and I freeze them. This way I can keep the shrimps for at least 3 months and I only pay the half.

@arthurchappell The food keeps very well, you save some money and you have food stored so you are not obliged to go out if you do not want.

@JudyEv it is random - you just get allocated a bag - everyone gets roughly the same so no one gets a better bag than anyone else - it is very cheap compared to buying all the week's food from the shops
