Pretty Soon we will have to be heating our homes for winter. Some use wood, some gas or others butane, and some electricity. All of which is not cheap. Actually it won't be long. So how do you heat?

We have natural gas through the power company, so it's as simple as switching the thermostat to heat from cool.

@popciclecold Egads no. It's not. Even using space heaters might be cheaper.

@popciclecold ~I have a natural gas furnace. I like to keep the thermostat in the mid 60's and dress warmer and have several layers of bedding including a couple of comforters..

I have a gas furnace here and keep the thermostat at 65°F. In my last place I had a gas fireplace that kept things so toasty that I would have to turn it off for a while.

Mostly a propane furnace with a pellet burner in the family room to give a little extra heat there. Have a supply of wood for the fireplace if the electric goes out or it gets extremely cold out.

We have a gas heater, in case lights go out, but mostly it's electric.

Good thing we do not need too. Electricity is not cheap here.

Electric and wood, but I need a propane heater. At the old home place its natural gas.

We have short winters and that too not much chilling. Woolen clothes and blankets are enough here
