How on earth do you tell a singer like Mario Lanza to sing with less emotion? What do they think he had a button to press? A button to press for less emotion and then one for more emotion? I love the way he took he just walked off stormed off would be more like it. He was Italian do they think he was made of ice or something? I found a link of Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov they loved to skate to his music and songs. Hope you like this as he is so nice to listen to and they are so lovely to watch. Have a great weekend ahead and big hugs to all.
The excellence of Mario Lanza's voice is combined with the excellence of Gordeeva's and Grinkov's ice skating. Mario Lanza was called "the greatest voice of ...

I can't imagine someone telling him to sing with less emotion. Impossible! Those skaters were beautiful. Wonderful symmetry.

I could not have imagined him taking to that suggestion. He must have thought it a joke. Happy you liked the skaters.

I haven't heard about him being asked/told to sing with less emotion. If that happened, they had a bit of a nerve.

Just imagine telling someone like Mario Lanza to take some of the emotion out of his song. They asked him to sing "Beloved" with less emotion that they could not edit the recording with so much emotion. He sang from the heart and not somewhere up in his ears so it was a no no for him. They did have a nerve I should say so. I love the Russian pair skating to his songs and I did not know that they did this then. As we only ever saw the Olympic stuff and that was it.

Oh that is good. Whenever I need cheering up a bit his beautiful voice puts me back into a happy mood. "Be My Love" is one of my favourites although most of his songs I love too and cannot think of one I donĀ“t like.
