It is 23:04 and I have just watched a television drama. My room is dark; I like to sleep without lights on. The street light is switched on anyway and this is situated outside adjacent to my room.
The night is sometimes quiet. Sometimes, because our neighbor's dogs that are tied outside their house while one is in the doghouse and these dogs yelp and whine. Hope the dogs sleep well now.
Can you sleep without lights on? Aren't you afraid of the dark?of ghosts?

As long as I "rationalize" all the sounds I hear, I'm okay with darkness in a familiar room. 
However, sleeping in the morning, with the dawn and the birds tweeting, is priceless! 
Dogs aren't enough to wake me up, but thunderstorms could be.

i sleep like a log, but i am a light sleeper. it is contradicting, but that is my sleep pattern.

maybe a small table lamp is good to illuminate the room. maybe you were thinking of something ghostly that is why you cannot sleep in the dark?

I sleep with a light close to my room. Never saw a ghost. hope I never do.

I am not afraid of the dark... I can sleep with or without lights on but I prefer sleeping in the dark... I have a dark curtain that light-proofs my room during daytime...

I can sleep both, lights on or off! I'm not afraid even if I'm alone in my apartment as long as I know that I have nice neighbors.

that is great. well, we are safe when inside our house with or without lights, but sometimes just one single bulb lit during the night can evade the robbers from getting into a house.

When I sleep, the darker the better. Also, the quieter the better. I am usually a light (no pun intended) sleeper and lights and sounds tend to wake me up.

we are similar. i am a light sleeper but i wake up quickly when something sounds loud.
yes, that song by S&G was what registered in my mind when i took the picture of my room that was dark.
