I helped my friend and my throat is sore.

I read to my friend all the time between lunch and tea time. And then, after tea, I read some more. The novel was interesting although the author has to polish some sentences. But the plot is good, up to what I read. After that, we talked about her problems, health and money as they are both mixed. She brought me 2 novels and I´ll read them, make a resume and criticize them. It will be a help for her. She cannot read unless the font is very big. I wonder, if she scans the novels (which are in paper) can she then change the font and place the scanned pages in Word?

I'm so sorry for your friend. It sounds as if she is having horrible problems, but lucky in that she has a wonderful friend like you.

@Tina30219 Unfortunately, she either has no more friends, or she doesn´t dare ask for help.

Maybe she can search the audio file of this novel from the Internet.

She can´t. They are novels from young unpublished writers and she is part of the jurors for a price that includes publishing the best novel

Once pages are scanned and place in Word they can be enlarged. That is the print can be made larger.

Before my brother went blind he had a machine that increased the size of the print. Later he had one which read out the text to him. Just in case it's a help.

Her daughter downloaded a program that reads aloud if the books are sent online. But these novels were not sent that way..

@marguicha My brother's scanned the pages then read them. I think that is how it worked. Our Association for the Blind was very helpful with information. Perhaps there is a similar organisation there.

I think scanning it and converting it in Word will need more time and effort. How about magnifying glasses?

I can help her some, but I cannot really help her with her ailment.
