Pain, pain, go away. I’m thinking the therapy has to stop until we can get my back fixed. Medical coordination would help here: helping this body part shouldn’t hurt that body part! Anyway, here’s another one of those legendary movies that even I’ve seen. #5: Raiders of the Lost Ark Three words: THE. MELTING. NAZI. While this may not have raked in the bucks that Spielberg’s other movie on this list did (E.T.), this is, to me, one of his best movies. A splendid blend of action, adventure, suspense, and comedy, Raiders of the Lost Ark topped the box office charts in 1981. Spielberg, according to Picky Wedia, said the movie came from his desire to revive the old serials of the 40s and 50s. If you watch it with that in mind you see how well he succeeded. In addition to bringing a new level to the “action movie” that few have matched, this movie inspired something else: the PG-13 rating. In “those days” there was nothing between PG and R, and many complained that there were a few scenes (THE. MELTING. NAZI.) that were way too intense for younger viewers. It spawned sequels (I liked Last Crusade better than Temple of Doom) and did for the action genre what Bullitt did for the car chase. Raiders of the Lost Ark Directed by Steven Spielberg Released in 1981 One of my absolute favorite scenes in the movie, showing the action and comedy so splendidly blended in this film:

A nice movie and I remember the nearly 1000 years old Knight the protagonists met in the Last Crusade. And do you remember the villain in Temple of Doom? - he was an Indian actor - Amrish Puri.
