In general, I rarely watch local (Filipino) movies because... well, that might be a topic for another day. :P But this past weekend, the movie Kita Kita was on KBO (on digital TV), and I thought I'd give it a try.
It was good. :)
I found it a bit cheesy at first, but from the Daruma doll scene to the end, it became very emotional. And everything that happened in the beginning took on a newer meaning.
Basically, it's (a romcom) about this girl who suffered from temporary blindness, and a not-drop-dead-gorgeous :P guy who befriends her.
It's English title is supposed to be ’I See You', but there is some other movie with the same title that comes up when I Google it. If any non-Filipinos want to go look for it, it's the one that stars Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez. The language is Filipino and Japanese, but the one I watched had English subtitles, so maybe that's available out there.
I do hope people can watch it. It's definitely worth a rewatch, and it's something I can be happy to recommend to the rest of the world. :)
Linked trailer was just the teaser, but it's the one I found that had English subtitles.
