Another Kind of Beauty

When I go on these trips the main thing I focus on is the beauty of God’s creation. Today, however, I was blessed with another kind of beauty. While at Norris Dam I walked up and down the observation area. At the far end was a motorcycle parked. When I walked to that end the cyclist — a gentleman named Larry — and I struck up a conversation. It was wonderful. We talked about loving God, loving nature, and loving Skynyrd. We must have talked for 20 minutes. Two total strangers, blessing each other with conversation! Wow. That was a completely different kind of beauty than what I’m used to seeing. And I’m so thankful that I experienced it!!!

Is it easy for you to talk to strangers?

It depends on the circumstance. In a “professional” job-related settings, or in the city, it’s very difficult. On vacation, it’s much easier. In the southern US, however, we’re notorious for not knowing strangers and talking to everyone.

Norris Dam sounds quite beautiful and it is lovely you talked to a fellow visitor. Yes, it is another kind of beauty compared to like a natural waterfall by the side of a mountain.

You need to go to your local bar more often. Never after 10 PM though. That is cool and that is the type of stuff I miss since I am pretty much banning most of the world from my life.

Haven't had such an experience in a long time but it is great when two strangers can get together and talk like that.
