It is a holiday here in my country and it is also the birthday of the oldest clinical instructor when she hasn't resigned yet 3 years ago. I placed a status post in my Facebook wall with a picture of the 2 of us.
Since ma'am MT is now retired, I am now the oldest clinical instructor and with God's grace, I will be retiring next year.
Whenever any of my colleagues and family members celebrate their birthdays, I always greet the celebrator by posting a picture of me and her/him. The greetings is from my heart even though it is a simple message only.
Happy birthday to you ma'am MT.

@Freelanzer thank you. there are more colleagues who are now doctors, who show respect when we meet along the corridors. i address them as 'doctor _ _ _, while they always address me as Ma'am, my favorite teacher", which is so humbling because i believe i taught them something that my other colleagues did not.

i have been doing that for 5 years now. i post a picture of me and the birthday celebrator, and other friends greet her too through the photo i shared.

i agree with ilocosboy that it's a great idea to post a pic of you together. since you started this 5 years ago, i know you remember their birthdays at heart and will continue to greet them even when you're no longer working there.

we are often reminded by Facebook, right? but i know some of my classmates that i know their birthdays by heart. so far, so good. now, my other colleagues follow suit. they also greet others with their picture together with the celebrator, but i did it first though

yes, and it has become my own style of greeting somebody a happy birthday. our clinical coordinator also has his birthday yesterday and i posted a picture of him and me and the rest of my colleagues as well.
